Shinjuku Gyoen is a large national park located in the central part of Tokyo. Originally the site of a feudal lord’s mansion during the Edo period, it became an imperial garden during the Meiji period. And then, it was open to the public after World War II.
There are three different gardens within the park: Landscape Garden, Formal Garden, and Japanese Traditional Garden. where you can enjoy seasonal plants and historical buildings. Especially, various varieties of roses are in full bloom in early summer.
