The Revival of Nakajima Lock Gate (YOKO_1601)

Nakajima Lock Gate is designated as a national important cultural property which is located in Toyama prefecture, central part of Japan. Panama canal-style lock was built to facilitate the transportation of materials by ship. Later, it was restored and repaired due to deterioration.

Now, you can enjoy a water elevator with a 2.5 meter water level difference on the Fugan Water Line which is a cruise along the canal. This is the only place that you can experience it in Japan.

The area is one of the popular places as there are beautiful park and many cherry blossom trees. If you have a chance to visit Toyama, you should go there!
