Fujiyoshida City is the central city of the Gunnai region in the southeastern part of Yamanashi Prefecture, and located in the east-central part of the Fuji Five Lakes, north of Mt. Fuji. Although not included in the following model plan, Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine in Kamiyoshida is the starting point of the Yoshida Ascending Route, and is registered as another World Cultural Heritage Site as one of the constituent assets of Mt. Fuji.
